Peachcrest Elementary, is Pre-K through Fifth grade and is located in south DeKalb County near the city of Decatur. Our dedicated and collegial staff works hard to enhance the academic potential of all students. Fifty percent of our staff has over 10 years of experience.
School Goals
The collective efforts of students, teachers, staff, parents, and the school community will enhance the student’s academic, social, and emotional growth by utilizing a meaningful curriculum aligned to the
Georgia Performance Standards. This will maximize the learning process and improve critical thinking skills.
- Students use the Accelerated Reader, a computerized reading incentive program,
- Parental involvement is enhanced by the assistance of the Communities in Schools program.
- Peachcrest is a school-wide Title 1 school, which results in increased funding for equipment for students and teachers.
- Students may participate in a number of clubs and activities including: Reading Bowl, Spelling Bee, BETA Club, bird club, tutoring, band, chorus, strings, art and Spanish.
- Extended day support through after-school program and Scana Tutorial are available.
